Why run a Pacesetter Campaign?  Why not?

There are many great reasons to run an early, ambitious campaign:

  • As a Pacesetter, you help jumpstart the annual campaign — you set the pace for everyone else!
  • You stand out as a community leader. Putting your best foot forward at the outset allows you to shine!
  • Running your campaign in the summer has great advantages, including energizing your employees half-way through the year, taking advantage of the warm weather for special events and breathing new life into your traditional fall campaign.
  • You will receive unique recognition opportunities through media and our web site throughout the Pacesetter campaign.
  • Your overall campaign will improve! After all, you set an ambitious goal, and you know that you can count on support from your company leadership and United Way staff.
  • You will be invited to our campaign kick-off event as a special thank you to our Pacesetter companies and organizations. Celebrate your success with others who are committed to improving our community’s quality of life.

How do I run a Pacesetter Campaign?
Here’s how it works:

  • You complete your United Way campaign by September 5, 2008.
  • Your United Way representative reviews your campaign history, analyzes your 2007 results, and determines a realistic goal for your 2008 campaign.
  • This goal is based on two of your vital statistics:
    2007 percent participation
    • Increase participation by 5%
    OR

    2007 employee giving
    • 10% growth within employee campaigns

If your company would like to run a Pacesetter Campaign, contact Katie Rennard, Vice President Resource Development at 330.643.5517 or email krennard@uwsummit.org.
