Program Description
Project Blueprint, an ethnic
minority development program, helps United Way, its member agencies, and
other nonprofit organizations become more inclusive, responsive and
reflective of the culturally diverse communities which they serve. The
goal of Project Blueprint is to accelerate involvement of African
American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino and Native American volunteers to become
policy-makers on United Way and agency boards and committees. First
conceived and initiated in 1987 by United Way of America, Project
Blueprint is now in over 50 cities across the nation. In 2001, United
Way of Summit County launched Project Blueprint.
Timeline
• Application Deadline - October
• Program Participant Selection - Fall
• Leadership Training Seminars - weekly, January through March
• Class Graduation - April
• Placement/Referrals to Agency Boards/Committees - Spring
Qualifications/Application Procedure
Project Blueprint seeks
identified ethnic minority candidates with strong leadership qualities, who
want to be more involved on the boards of nonprofit organizations.
Candidates may be nominated by individuals, organizations or
self-nominated.
Tuition Cost
A nonrefundable tuition fee
of $200 to cover program expenses is due upon acceptance into Project
Blueprint.
