ABOUT YOUR UNITED WAY

MISSION
We improve lives by mobilizing community assets for health and human services.

ADVANCING THE COMMON GOOD
Advancing the common good means creating opportunities for a better life for all. United Way of Summit County is committed to improving the conditions by focusing on these three building blocks:

EDUCATION
>> Developing and supporting programs that ensure children are ready to succeed in school and are on track to
become productive adults

>> Helping children realize that a quality education leads to a stable job

INCOME
>> Creating opportunities for people to earn an income that can support a family through retirement

>> Building an environment where individuals and families can improve their ability to live independently

HEALTH
>> Improving overall mental and physical wellness

>> Increasing the number of youth and adults who are healthy and avoid risky behaviors

Our goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of problems. When we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all. We invite you to be a part of this change. To support this vision for the future of Summit County. Together, we can accomplish more than any single group can on its own.

GIVE.
Make a pledge through your workplace campaign, or contribute online at www.uwsummit.org. A donation to United Way is the most powerful way to invest in improvements for our community. You can direct your contribution to an impact area or allow local volunteers to direct your contribution to where it is needed most.

ADVOCATE.
You can make change happen with your voice. Get informed. Tell your friends. Write a letter to the editor. United Way needs people who are passionate about improving our community to make some noise.

VOLUNTEER.
The United Way of Summit County Volunteer Center works with volunteers and local nonprofits to develop the best opportunities for youth, busy working adults and seniors. Call 330.762.7601 or visit www.uwsummit.org for a list of local volunteer opportunities.
