Public Policy is a significant
catalyst for change…it directs funding towards important
community health and human service needs that compliment the
ongoing fundraising and investment efforts of United Way of
Summit County. A committee of United Way of Summit County
volunteers and staff are developing an annual public
policy/legislative agenda to provide guidance on a variety of
local, state and federal policy issues that sustain the work our
Community Impact Councils are doing.
Under the leadership of Summit
County Council District Four Councilman and long-time United Way
volunteer Frank Comunale (pictured), the Public Policy Committee will
provide information to legislators and to the public in an
effort to increase understanding and awareness of the impact of
policy and budget decisions on health and human services in our
community.
United Way of Summit County is
focusing on two Community Impact priorities – School Readiness
for Children and Economic Stability for Families.
How Can You Advocate for
Change?
Let our policy makers know how you feel. If we work
together, united, we can promote change in our community and
direct funding to the problems that need it most.
