Message from the United Way of Summit
County President
The United Way of Summit County’s mission
states "we improve lives by mobilizing community assets for health
and human services." This mission is the foundation of the strategic
plan that was adopted by the United Way Board of Trustees in 2002.
In 2005, at the request of the Board of
Trustees, an ad hoc Strategic Planning Committee was formed to review and
modify the organization’s strategic plan to reflect current community
needs, circumstances and trends. After a six-month process of discussion
and analysis, this updated version was adopted by the United Way Board of
Trustees in February 2006.
Our mission, vision and values have
remained unchanged. The revised Strategic Imperatives – shown on the
reverse side – not only emphasize United Way’s critical role of
raising funds for health and human service needs, but highlight the role
that United Way plays in championing volunteerism and philanthropy in our
community. United Way is the organization best able to mobilize resources
to meet community needs.
Sincerely, Bob Kulinski President, United Way of
Summit County
