Summit for Kids Overview

In 2008 the late Chief Justice Moyer and Governor Strickland gathered representatives from the 88 counties in Ohio in a forum to discuss the issues and problems counties were having in providing services to the children and families in their community. This forum enacted the Summit on Children initiative and the counties were given the charge to better collaborate to enhance the services being provided to children and families. Summit County has been hard at work to enhance our collaboration and services that are provided to children and families. Great strides have been made in efforts to increase resources for early childhood development, finding alternatives to placing children in residential treatment facilities to maintain them in family settings, and providing a better resource base for youth who are emancipating out of the child welfare system.

Community businesses, organizations and agencies are invited to join in on our children programming, education and entertainment.  We have reserved 100 booths at the John S. Knight Center are are pleased to offer you and your organization booth packages, sponsorship opportunities and learning workshops.

Pease join us in the first annual Summit for Kids Event for a day filled with fun activities, free give-a-ways, free back to school items for kids, special guests and so much more.
