Purpose:
To reach out to the
youth population including school aged children, students up through college level, and any young-at-heart community members.
 

Goals:

  • Inspire youth to become leaders in our community

  • Educate and increase awareness of the community need among 
    the younger population

  • Encourage philanthropy and volunteerism at a young age

  • Increase involvement and understanding of United Way among youth

  • Volunteer - Help make YOUR community a better place by volunteering time at an area non-profit organization!

    • Day of Caring
      Volunteer with hundreds of others in the month of June!

    • Done in a Day
      Set up a one day volunteer project for your group at a local agency!

    • Volunteer Center
      Search for up-to-date volunteer opportunities

2007 Alternative Spring Break

  • Fund Raise - Host a fundraiser at your school, club, organization, or with friends to help benefit United Way of Summit County, local community agencies, and YOUR community!

    Find creative Ideas for Youth Fundraising that you could implement with your group, or give us a call and let us help.

  • Donate - Make a donation to United Way of Summit County!  Contributions from youth will be distributed through the Youth Initiative Allocations Team.  Donate through your school’s campaign.

  • Raise Awareness - YOU can raise awareness by:

    • Inviting a United Way representative to speak at YOUR school or organization

    • Hosting a Youth Brown Bag educational seminar on topics of interest to your group.
