Meet the
Team
Barb Stewart has been a
member of the United Way of Summit County team for almost 7 years. She
began her career here when the Volunteer Center merged with United Way in
January 2001.
As the Marketing
Division Administrative Assistant, Barb Stewart's responsibilities are as
exciting as her upbeat personality and fun-loving spirit! She helps to plan
numerous events such as the Annual Meeting, Basketball Skills Competition
and Knight Breakfast, as well as Docs Who RockTM
and Chickenfest. In addition, Barb helps out with many other United Way
programs such as the Women's Leadership Giving Society luncheon and campaign
events as well as coordinating agency tours and speakers.
According to Barb, the best
part about working for UWSC is meeting new people, her variety of
responsibilities, and knowing that her work will end up helping someone down
the road. Barb has proven to be quite an asset to the United Way team;
President Bob Kulinski describes her as "one of our MVPs. She is
enthusiastic, always pitches in to help where help is needed, always upbeat
and joyful, and has a terrific work ethic. She adds much that is positive to
the overall chemistry of our team, and we all appreciate her very much."
In her time away from work
Barb is very active as well, working out three times a week (when she's
good), and participating in outdoor activities such as camping and fishing.
Barb previously taught and competed in ballroom dance. Reading mysteries and
playing video games (Tomb Raider is her favorite) are also hobbies that Barb
enjoys.

What is Planned Giving?
A "planned gift" to United Way of Summit County can help to ensure the future of
important services and programs in our community. What are planned gifts? They
include donations made through your Will, gifts of life insurance or retirement
plans, or other gifts made through legal or financial instruments. Here are
some simple ways you can make a planned gift:
-
Bequest -- designate United Way as a beneficiary
in your will;
-
Gift of Life Insurance -- designate United Way as
a beneficiary in a life insurance policy that is no longer needed for its
original purpose;
-
Gifts of Retirement Plans -- designate United Way
as a beneficiary in your IRA.
All bequests or gifts from
insurance policies will benefit neighbors and friends close to home and,
regardless of the amount, your planned gift will be an investment in the future
of our community.
The United Way of Summit
County Evergreen Society was created to honor donors who help perpetuate
the good work of United Way with a planned gift. If you have already remembered
United Way through an insurance policy or Will, please let us know so we can
recognize you as a member of the Evergreen Society. For more information visit
our website at
www.uwsummit.org and click on "Planned Giving" or contact Charlene Corlett,
Vice President Major Gifts, at 330.643.5537 or
