Coordinated Approach to Childhood Health

Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH) is a program to prevent childhood obesity by promoting healthy eating and physical activity. The program is being implemented through out-of-school time programs at 71 sites including selected ones at Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority. More than 5,500 children in Summit and Medina Counties participate annually.

CATCH is the most proven program to prevent childhood obesity and launch kids and communities toward healthier lifestyles. It is the only program that has had a profound effect on the childhood obesity epidemic. Using CATCH insures that a community is doing the most it can for the health of its kids.

By impacting a child’s nutrition, level of physical activity, classroom environment and community, CATCH changes lives and communities. CATCH creates an environment that makes healthy decisions fun!
