United Way of Summit County’s inaugural Smart Start Community Baby Shower was a huge success! Moms received bags filled with diapers, lotion and other baby necessities supplied by hundreds of generous donors from throughout the community. Employees from Akron Children’s Hospital were also on hand to provide valuable information on car seat safety, finding a pediatrician, infant safe sleep, breastfeeding and nutrition. With the help of local companies, organizations and individual volunteers, United Way is working to build a Summit County where every child has a fair shot at a healthy, prosperous, fulfilling life.
