United Way of Summit & Medina’s Day of Action mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to serve community

Jun 24, 2022

300 volunteers participated in United Way of Summit & Medina’s Day of Action on June 17. The annual United Way event brings together individual and corporate group volunteers from across Summit and Medina counties to help local nonprofits throughout the area.

Volunteers spread mulch, painted fences, packed reading kits for children, built wooden decking and more at 22 area nonprofit organizations. In total, the event generated 1,500 hours of service to the local community.

“It’s truly inspiring to see so many people come out, roll up their sleeves, and give it their all to improve our community,” said Jim Mullen, president and CEO of United Way of Summit & Medina. “The passion and pride of our volunteers is what drives our work. With their help, we can create lasting, positive change in this community.”
