2020 Request for Proposals

United Way of Summit and Medina (UWSM) is now reviewing Request for Proposal applications. UWSM will make funding decisions that best align with the investment strategies within our Bold Goals by 2025 and Basic Needs areas. This framework is a roadmap for addressing specific health and human service challenges facing our community.

Funding will be determined through a competitive application process. Below is a brief timeline of the RFP process. Information will be added to this page as the RFP timeline progresses.

RFP Timeline

  • September 15, 2020 - Stakeholder Town Hall (Virtual Meeting)
    If you missed this session, watch the video.
  • October 12 - October 16, 2020 - RFP Training for agencies
  • October 19, 2020 - Request for Proposal available
  • November 13, 2020 - DEADLINE: Full applications due with attachments
  • January 2021 - Grant recipients notified
  • March 15, 2021 - Agreements signed
  • April 1, 2021 - NEW Funding Begins

Agencies that are interested in applying for funding are encouraged to attend the Stakeholder Town Hall, as well as the RFP training sessions that best align with the Impact area(s) they will be applying to. At the Stakeholder Town Hall, UWSM will provide an important update regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and adjustments to the RFP process. The training sessions are not mandatory, although agencies will be learning how to use the online submission system, so these meetings are highly encouraged. UWSM will not be meeting with individual agencies during the RFP application process (10/19 -11/13). The dates and times of the RFP information sessions are listed below.

NOTE: We will not be holding an RFP meeting specific for Bold Goal 3: Financial Empowerment.

Funding applications

Funding applications must be submitted by Friday, November 13, 2020, at 11:59 pm. No late submissions will be accepted. Incomplete applications that are submitted will not be reviewed.


Review Process

All completed applications will be assessed through a competitive review process. The review process will include a review of the funding application and a possible site visit. An agency may be contacted if additional information or clarification is needed throughout the review process. All funding decisions are final. There is no appeal process.
