Stuart Glauberman Named 2015 United Way Campaign Chair

The 2015 United Way of Summit County campaign is underway with a new chair at the helm. Stuart Glauberman, President and CEO of Malco Products, will lead a team of volunteers who will engage area employers and community members to help impact quality of life for all in Summit County by supporting United Way's work in education, income and health. A 2015 campaign goal of $13.25 has been set. If achieved, the result would be an all-time record for United Way of Summit County's annual campaign. More

Friday! Join Us for the Corporate Derby Challenge

Come on down to the Corporate Derby Challenge at Derby Downs to cheer on your team and enjoy all-American entertainment. New this year will be live music, a bouncy house and other kid's activities and the Beachcomber food truck to add to the party atmosphere. Tailgating will be available in the grass area trackside. Food, music, kid's activities and tailgating begins at 3 p.m. and $10 Fun Runs in a Derby car will take place 3 to 5 p.m. Free admission and parking. More

Signet Jewelers, located in Fairlawn, recently completed its 2015 United Way Campaign resulting in its largest contribution to date. More

More Than 500 Preschoolers Were Registered for Imagination Library at Summit for Kids!

United Way is proud to be fiscal sponsor for the annual Summit for Kids. And, for the first time this year, we were also an exhibitor. United Way volunteers registered more than 500 preschool children on site to receive free books! United Way's Imagination Library is a unique early years book gifting program that mails, at no cost, a brand new, age-appropriate book to enrolled children every month from birth until five years of age. More

Help our Young Leaders Stuff the Bus with School Supplies

With the start of a new school year, United Way of Summit County's Young Leaders Society is working with partners throughout our community to help make sure public school students in Summit County have the basic materials they need for school. Supplies can be dropped off at any Akron-Summit County Public Library location or at the United Way office at 90 North Prospect St., Akron through Friday, September 11. A Stuff the Bus grand finale will be held on Sunday, September 13 during the Global Village Festival at Lock 3 Park in downtown Akron. More

Join Us for the 2015 Pinnacle Awards

Hosted by Inside Business and United Way of Summit County, The Pinnacle Awards of Summit County were created to honor individuals and organizations that are serving the greater good. Three individual awards are given out annually in honor of pillars of the Summit County The Lisle M. Buckingham Award, The John F. Seiberling Jr. Award and the Andrea R. Teodosio Rising Star Award. We also honor finalists from local companies who collectively are recognized for their contribution toward serving the greater good and practicing corporate social responsibility. More
