VITA Volunteers Needed

WE ARE CURRENTLY ACCEPTING VITA VOLUNTEER APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2022 TAX SEASON

Dedicated volunteers are needed to provide free tax preparation services to people with limited incomes. By helping working families take advantage of programs like the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), you can help bring in millions of dollars to the local community — dollars to help families jumpstart their savings, reduce debt and invest in our community. VITA is also an entry into other programs offered at the Financial Empowerment Center, such as free one-on-one financial coaching.

Benefits of volunteering:

  • Build your resume
  • Learn a new skill
  • FREE IRS-certified training
  • Flexible schedule: Morning, evening and weekends.  Virtual/remote* shifts available
  • Continuing Education Credits for Attorneys, Enrolled Agents, and CPAs

Volunteer commitment:

  • Attend volunteer training
  • Pass an IRS Certification exam
  • Volunteer at least 5 shifts during tax season

*Note: To volunteer remotely you need secure internet access and a computer.
